Frohosting processes personal data from its customers, prospects and other contact persons. This privacy statement explains which data Frohosting processes when, why and how.
This privacy statement applies to the processing of personal information and data provided by customers, prospects and other contact persons obtained when requesting and using our services (domain name registration and hosting packages) and when visiting our website. Frohosting collects contact information such as name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth and bank details, data regarding previous orders and use of our services. We also store contact history, for example when you ask a question to our customer service. If you use our helpdesk, we have your contact details and we can save the content of the conversations in order to be of better service to you in the future and to improve our own information provision.
In addition to the personal data that you provide to Frohosting yourself, Frohosting may collect, record and process additional personal data about your use of our services and website (s). Depending on the services you purchase from us, Frohosting stores traffic and location data. It only concerns data related to your communication, not the communication itself.
We also collect data about the equipment you use, such as a unique device ID, the version of the operating system settings of the device you use to visit our website, as well as data about the use of our website (s), such as the time on which you visit us and the topics you view. The response (open and clicks) to our emails are also recorded at an individual level.
Frohosting processes personal data to provide its services. For example, we store data for creating an account, financial administrative processing and, of course, applying for a domain name. Frohosting also needs information when (being able to) answer questions, handle complaints and process any recoveries. After placing an order, a quote and invoice number is linked to your account.
In addition, we store your IP address for security reasons. For example, it is possible to determine from which IP address the account is logged in or changes are made. Frohosting also stores other traffic and location data in order to enable its services and / or to settle it administratively and financially.
Frohosting uses systems or services from third-party suppliers, where the supplier may also have access to our customers’ data. Some of our suppliers are based in the USA. These parties are certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield or there are contractual agreements with regard to an appropriate level of security.
For an application, allocation and possible use of a domain name, Frohosting fulfills a role as an intermediary (registrar). Your application will be passed on to the relevant registering bodies, such as the Stichting Internet Domeinregistratie Nederland (SIDN). The authority decides on the allocation of your domain name. To enable registration, Frohosting will pass on your application details (contact details (name, email address, telephone number and correspondence address) to these authorities.
Personal data is exchanged within the Frohosting group. If you are a Frohosting customer, we will also see you as a customer of the other companies belonging to the Frohosting group. Frohosting does not sell personal data to third parties.
